Sylman Consulting was established in 2012 in response to the significant upheaval in health and social care services.

We understand the complex world of Health and Social Care. We know the increasing dilemmas facing front line staff, service managers and commissioners because we’ve faced these ourselves.
Sylvia Manson is a social worker and has worked across Health and Social Care, specialising in Mental Health, Mental Capacity and Safeguarding - both as service provider, commissioner and Mental Health Review Tribunal member.
She has applied this experience in national roles to drive large scale change. As the Department Health NHS Safeguarding Adults lead, Sylvia authored the Department of Health guidance documents in safeguarding adults which established the principals now set within the Care Act 2014 statutory guidance.
